The land at the corner of Church & Sessions Streets was purchased by Sam W. Jones from A.H. Gilbert for $1,200 in 1905, whereupon the current structure was built. It was part of the M.M. Sessions subdivision. In 1911, the house consisted of four main rooms downstairs and the three bedrooms upstairs. After Mr. Jones’ demise in 1914, the property passed to his wife Anna Mae Jones. Their daughter, Anna Jones Pace inherited the house. She was married to John Sidney Pace. Their son John Edward Pace received the house in 1970 and then left it to his wife Ruth. When their son John E. Pace, Jr. inherited the house, he sold it out of the family for the first time. The current owners, John & Elizabeth Schupp, purchased the house in 1999.
In 1911, the house was expanded to include what is now the bedroom and bath downstairs as well as the office and sleeping porch. In 2007, a second story addition over the kitchen & attic were completed. Many original details of the house remain including six fireplaces. The front porch wraps around three sides of the house with fluted columns with Victorian Doric capitals. The house is filled with antiques including one table recovered from the Pace homestead.
