Volunteer your time for the Marietta event of the season - the Marietta Pilgrimage, featured in Southern Living and named a Top 100 Event in North America. It takes more than 300 volunteers to make the Tour a success, so join in the fun and sign up today!
As a small token of our appreciation, all volunteers will receive one complimentary ticket per shift worked for admission into all six homes during Day Tour hours.
This year, the Marietta Pilgrimage Tour is using SignUpGenius for all volunteer sign-ups. This website is simple to use – it provides volunteers with a quick and easy way to see all available shifts and select the date and time that best suits your schedule. It will even remind you of your commitment prior to the event!
Volunteers can sign-up via SignUpGenius for Docent and Bistro Shifts. If you would like to be a ticket sales volunteer, please see the "Tickets" section below.
An overview of each volunteer type is listed below.
A docent is a person who is a knowledgeable guide and will provide visitors with commentary of the homes on the pilgrimage tour. If you volunteer to be a docent, you will be given literature about the home you are working in, so that you can become knowledgeable of the history of the home.
Docent shifts are available for the following dates/times:
Saturday: 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., 11:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday: 9:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 12:15 pm – 3:00 pm, 2:45 p.m. – 6 p.m.
The Bistro offers several opportunities for you to volunteer and have an amazing time while helping a great cause.
Shifts are 2 – 2.5 hours in length with the last ½ hour spent training your replacement. We encourage you to team up with a buddy. Bistro volunteers serve food, take money and make sure trash is under control.
Volunteers for ticket sales will sell tickets at the Marietta Visitors Bureau to those wishing to go on the tour. Ticket sale volunteer shifts are available the week leading up to Pilgrimage and during the Tour weekend. If you would like to be a ticket Sale Volunteer, sign-up here.
Tickets may be purchased in person at the Marietta Welcome Center or Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society. Tickets may also be purchased online.
