Thank you so much for volunteering as a docent for the Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour! Please follow the link below to select a volunteer shift. Then click "Submit and Sign Up" to complete your registration. As a special thanks for your time, you will receive a complimentary tour ticket. You may pick up your ticket at the William Root House or Marietta Welcome Center before your shift, which is recommended if you're planning to volunteer for an afternoon or Sunday shift.
Volunteer to be a Docent
A docent is a person who is a knowledgeable guide and will provide visitors with commentary of the homes on the pilgrimage tour. If you volunteer to be a docent, you will be given literature about the home you are working in, so that you can become knowledgeable of the history of the home. Volunteer to Sell Tickets
Volunteers for ticket sales will sell tickets at the Marietta Welcome Center to those wishing to go on the tour. Ticket sale volunteer shifts are available the week leading up to Pilgrimage and during the Tour weekend.
Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions
Wear: Recommended attire for the tour is "festive casual." Wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes. No high-heels are allowed in the homes for the protection of the flooring. Consider wearing layers – our beautiful old houses can be drafty or warm depending on the weather and the crowds!
Bring: A watch and a smile! Bottled water will be provided.
Parking: Parking is available at the Welcome Center and at various locations near the Square, including the parking decks, which are free on the weekends. You may walk or ride the Tour Shuttle to your house. Towing will be enforced to allow for traffic flow. Shuttles will pick up from Mill Street and the William Root House.

- Check in at the front door to pick up a name tag and learn your room assignment
- Find your room where note cards with information about the home will be available
- Learn your notes and get ready for some fun :)
