Volunteer your time for the Marietta event of the season - the Marietta Pilgrimage, featured in Southern Living and named a Top 100 Event in North America. It takes more than 300 volunteers to make the Tour a success, so join in the fun and sign up today! As a small token of our appreciation, all volunteers will receive one complimentary ticket per shift worked for admission into all six homes during Day Tour hours. Volunteers must be 16 or older.
This year, the Marietta Pilgrimage Tour is using SignUpGenius for all volunteer sign-ups. This website is simple to use – it provides volunteers with a quick and easy way to see all available shifts and select the date and time that best suits your schedule. Docents
A docent is a person who is a knowledgeable guide and will provide visitors with commentary of the homes on the pilgrimage tour. If you volunteer to be a docent, you will be given literature about the home you are working in, so that you can become knowledgeable of the history of the home.
Docent shifts are available for the following dates/times:
Saturday: 8:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., 11:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday: 9:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 12:15 pm – 3:00 pm, 2:45 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Volunteers for ticket sales will sell tickets at the Marietta Visitors Bureau to those wishing to go on the tour. Ticket sale volunteer shifts are available the week leading up to Pilgrimage and during the Tour weekend.

Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions
Wear: Recommended attire for the tour is "festive casual." Wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes. No high-heels are allowed in the homes for the protection of the flooring. Consider wearing layers – our beautiful old houses can be drafty or warm depending on the weather and the crowds!
Bring: A watch and a smile! Bottled water will be provided.
Parking: Parking is available at the Welcome Center and at various locations near the Square, including the parking decks, which are free on the weekends. You may walk or ride the Tour Shuttle to your house. Towing will be enforced to allow for traffic flow.
